Various health awareness programs are conducted in the rural areas to build up awareness among the women regarding vaccinations and nutritional requirements during pregnancy, intake of iron and folic acid, care during delivery and postnatal care. These programs help to reinforce the old adage “prevention is better than cure”.

HIV/AIDS Awareness: The neighbourhood of the manufacturing plants and industrial areas has a substantial population of migrant workers that includes truck drivers, cleaners and contract labours. This is considered as a high risk area for HIV/AIDS and therefore various awareness programs were taken up on a priority basis. IEC materials supplied by NACO were distributed among the community, college students, health workers contract labours and truck drivers. Film shows and quiz program were also organized during the World AIDS week celebration.

Health Camps: General Health camps are also organised wherein general check-up, treatment for minor ailments and distribution of medicines free of cost are provided. Community clinic has also been opened to provide counselling and medicine free of cost to the needy.
Blood Donation camps are organized every year in which the TCL employee’s voluntarily donate blood.
