Tata Chemicals wins the Bombay Chamber ‘Good Corporate Citizen Award 2008-09’

Mumbai: Tata Chemicals (TCL) won the prestigious 'Good Corporate Citizen Award 2008–09' announced by The Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The awards were distributed at a glittering function held at The Trident, Mumbai on October 14, 2009.

TCL’s initiatives were adjudged winner among all the entries for its consistent, substantial and impactful efforts in corporate sustainability space.

Speaking on the achievement, R Mukundan, managing director,Tata Chemicals, said, “The roots of being sustainable and contributing to social needs are embedded in our value system which is also validated by our credo “The Human Touch of Chemistry”. Each one at TCL consistently works towards creating value for the organisation, community around and society in general. Receiving such accolades always provides encouragement in our continuous journey of sustainable development.”

The Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry, established in the year 1836, completes 173 years this September. In the year 1993, the Bombay Chamber had instituted the Good Corporate Citizen awards. On the basis of the parameters prescribed by a well laid-out selection process, the winner is chosen from amongst the applicants, every year. This award is conferred to an organisation for its outstanding contribution and achievements. The parameters of evaluation are business performance, corporate interest, welfare, customer and stakeholder satisfaction,social investment.
